Confession

A piece I wrote back in 2010.

“Bless me, Father, for I have sinned…” said the young man, broke the silence in the confessional in the Cathedral of Good Shepherd. It was a few minutes after lunch time mass ended but there were only a few people left. There was a group of old women praying the Rosary in front of the tabernacle and a couple of people who were kneeling  in the pews. As usual, the lunch time mass was always full of people trying to use their time for lunch and mass and getting back to the office on time.

Obsession? err… Maybe

Are you obsessed with books? Are you unable to leave bookstore without buying at least one new book? Are you obsessed organizing your book collection?

Yes! Yes and Yeeeesssss!

We’ve got a problem here..

According to Merriam Webster

ob·ses·sion

: someone or something that a person thinks about constantly or frequently
: an activity that someone is very interested in or spends a lot of time doing

It doesn’t take specialist to know that I’m definitely obsessed with books. Well, I’ll go the symptom and at the end of this post, you’ll decide whether you are obsessed too!

Today is my lucky day!STARBUCKS

I sent my mum to SCC meeting and now I’m waiting at Starbucks. There are many promo this month, which keep changing weekly (?). anyway, this week promo is to top up IDR 400,000 and get a free Starbucks Tumblr (The white one). Well, there were only 2 left. So I decided to top up my card and ordered my favourite drink, Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino. While doing the transaction, the staff informed me that I have the star reward, thus my drink was free. When the receipt came out, I was fortunate that I also got the Starbucks Customer experience Survey (The long receipt). From what I know, this is given with the 20th transaction of the day. When we got this, we need to fill up online survey. After that, we will be given a code to be written on the receipt then we can exchange the receipt with a Tall drink of our choice. What an interesting day.

It’s all about books!

The past few days, I’m very excited. I’ve been discussing with a few friends about setting up a Catholic Library. At first, we wanted to do it on our own independently, then I did my research and found out that I might as well ask my parish priest about it. I talked about it to the previous parish priest and he actually planned to have one in church. It’s just too bad that he was transferred before he could do everything he planned. Well, I’ve sent email this morning to my parish priest and for the moment I can only wait. If my parish doesn’t have plan to have library in near future then I’ll be back to my first plan to do it independently. That’s one thing.

I also plan to sell Catholic books on my blog targeted towards the local Catholics because the Catholic literature is very rare here, even in the national bookstore chain, the catholic section is becoming smaller and smaller. Other than that, we have small bookshop in The Catholic churches, which is very tiny and not many books available.

I just tidied up my bookshelves and I found a basket full of plastic-wrapped books. Those are books that I bought but I never open it. So I guess, I’ll start putting those up for sale. =D

EDIT: I just received a reply. He agreed. But I need to confirm whether he agreed to have parish library or for me to start my own ministry.

Doubt & Difficulty

Monday Morning on Riot & Cloistered monastery

A New Year’s resolution is a promise that you make to yourself to start doing something good or stop doing something bad on the first day of the year.
