Obsession? err… Maybe

Are you obsessed with books? Are you unable to leave bookstore without buying at least one new book? Are you obsessed organizing your book collection?

Yes! Yes and Yeeeesssss!

We’ve got a problem here..

According to Merriam Webster

: a state in which someone thinks about someone or something constantly or frequently especially in a way that is not normal
: someone or something that a person thinks about constantly or frequently
: an activity that someone is very interested in or spends a lot of time doing

It doesn’t take specialist to know that I’m definitely obsessed with books. Well, I’ll go the symptom and at the end of this post, you’ll decide whether you are obsessed too!

I take a great care of my books and I remember most of them and where they located in the bookshelves. I might not read them all but I know where to find them whenever I need them.

gramedia saleLast week, Gramedia started book sale outside their store; the books are from IDR 10,000 onwards. I bought a few. I wasn’t very happy that there is no Catholics/Christian books there. But they do give 10% discount to Catholic/Christian/Holy Bible in the store, so I can understand that.DSC_0172

As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, I’m planning to start a rental for Catholic books. Thus I started tidied up my bookshelves and choose which books to keep and to rent. So far, I’ve got about 15 books. Besides that, I also put aside books that are still wrapped (which mean I bought and never open it!), I’m guilty!

Yes, I have difficulty not buying books when I go to bookstore. It doesn’t help that my favourite bookstore is about 10 minute from my home. I know it’s a bad habit, but to my defense, I have to buy books now (especially Catholic books) because it will be difficult to find once it is out of production. For example : The Indonesian translation of C. S. Lewis’ books are very hard to find. It was produced 2-3 years ago. At that moment, there were a few books; The Screwtape Letters, Mere Christianity, The problem of pain, etc. Now it is very hard to find these books because it is no longer available in secular bookstore (well, I managed to find the publisher). Therefore, for me, I need to buy good Catholic/Christian books whenever I see it in the bookstore.

In the next few weeks, I’m trying hard to clean up my room so that I can welcome 2014 joyfully with clean & tidy room.

A couple pics to:
a. make you feel happy of your tidy room
b. make you jealous of my books.

The choice is yours..
